realllll simple.

so one of the magazines i've been starting
to love in my continuous attempts at
is real simple magazine.

you've just been proving yourself over & over again.

anyways, there was a great article in this 
month's issue about quick & healthy snacks.
now, if you're anything like me, your
snacks tend to be okay but not great,
sometimes healthy but could be healthier,
& never super creative. needless to say,
i find myself on the lookout a lot for
fresh, creative snack ideas, so when i
came across this article i was so excited
i (almost literally) ate it up.
& while i'm not a really calorie counter at all
(although i prooooobably should be),
i must admit it's nice to know that all their
snack ideas are less than 200 calories each!

especially yummy!)

here are some of their snack 
ideas that had me itching
to get to the grocery store:

car snacks [ones you can toss into a ziploc baggie
& take on the go]
1. 1/4 c soy nuts + 1 tablespoon chocolate chips
2. 1/2 c grapes + 1 stick mozzarella string cheese
*3. 3 c popcorn + 2 tablespoons grated
Parmesan + chili powder + a pinch cayenne pepper
4. 2 clementines + 7 walnut halves

desk snacks [keep well in a drawer or require
 a bit more attention/preparation to eat]
1. 1 packet plain instant oatmeal + 1/2 c blueberries
2. 1/2 sliced cucumber + 3 tablespoons hummus
*3. 1/2 c vanilla yogurt + 2 tablespoons canned
pumpkin + a pinch of pumpkin pie spice 
4. 2 carrots cut into sticks + 1 tablespoon
peanut butter
*5. 14 wheat thins cinnamon kick crunch stix +
one cup mott's applesauce

couch snacks [if you have more prep
time & want to relax with your tv]
*1. 2 sliced tomatoes + 1 ounce 
mozzarella + 5 basil leaves + 1
teaspoon balsamic vinegar
2. 1 banana + 2 teaspoons almond
butter + 1 tablespoon toasted
shredded coconut
*3. 1/2 c cooked brown rice + 1/4 c
vanilla soy milk + 2 tablespoons
raisins (warmed together in microwave)
*4. 1 c blackberries + 1/4 c part-skim
ricotta + 1/2 teaspoon honey +
