city college of new york graduation: day 2.

a quick rundown of the 2nd day of graduation. more celebrating grabs, more partying during commencement, more red carpet-walking into the ceremony, & more "start spreading the newwwwwwws" as we walked out afterwards. this time around, the audience included ben, my parents, & ben's parents. it was so wonderful to have these people in the audience who have been so supportive of me, & of what ben & i are doing here in nyc. anyway - in these next photos also please for you to notice i ditched heels in favor of much less angry birkenstocks. it made my entire day so much happier.

during the ceremony, they conferred three honorary degrees upon three formers students of city college. one of them was millard drexler, chairman & ceo of the j.crew group. as if that wasn't enough, he is also the founder of madewell. at this point i was just like I BOW DOWN TO YOU, GOOD SIR. another recipient was lillias white, a broadway star & tony award winner. at the end of her speech she burst into a rendition of "his eye is on the sparrow," & man that got the crowd moving. there were shouts of "amen!" & "she did that!" & basically i felt like i was at a sunday worship service. it was great. here's a song in which lillias slays (we're on first-name terms, although she doesn't know that yet?)

& some post-commencement shots with various parental units:

such a great day, & as you can tell from the photos, it was beautiful, & sunny, & perfect. let me say again, I'M DONE! when i left you i was but the learner; now I am the master.
