22 week "adjustments."

the red dress in these pictures was dress #2 of the day - the first one i tried on officially Doesn't Zip Up Anymore. upon realizing this hard, cold fact, i had a small breakdown which made us a tad bit late for church. :)

during said breakdown, my face looked a little something like this, if not worse:

my belly has exploded, it seems, just in the past two weeks - even one week ago, i don't believe it was quite this size. & let's see, how do i articulate this next part? let me try: it's still pretty wild & new to me that my body has started to look like this. almost like the person in these pictures is a total stranger, & yet the pregnant silhouette is all-too-familiar because it's one we all see, every day, on women. it's exciting, & scary, & weird that my body has started doing all this crazy stuff & i basically have to sit back & watch...& eat :)

(my dress is asos, shoes are nine west, purse is kate spade)

something ben does these days whenever we take pictures is rapidly snap pictures as i'm walking back over to him over. this one captures one of the last moments before i finally got my hands on the camera & said, "OKAY, bill cunningham, that's enough photos for one day." haha.

  1. i always think we are friends and now as i'm going to comment here.. i can't actually remember if we've ever talked or if i've ever commented which is shameful considering the amount of times i come to check in on your blog/life. sooo..hi! i'm megan sollis' friend brynne and i'm here to be your friend. i couldn't help but comment and say congratulations! it's obviously been a while since i checked out your life because i had no idea you're pregnant and you just look so great. hope the sickness is wearing off for you now that you're in the second trimester! and seriously, you're just looking so cute pregnant. i'll be referencing these outfits when my second pregnancy comes around.

  3. Yes! You articulated it perfectly. It's bizarre to see your body do this thing all by itself (even more bizarre when you can SEE the movements of your baby from the outside! When I was pregnant with my twins it was the same thing, but sort of in fast-forward motion. By the end, I truly felt like a freak of nature. :-) But you look absolutely great at 22 weeks. Embrace the craziness! It will be over sooner than you think. And that is a fabulous red dress.

    1. I cannot IMAGINE what it would feel like to have TWO little people in here! That's, like, superwoman status. Do you feel like you got to know, at least the beginning stages of, their little personalities when they were in the womb? Or, I mean, who would kick when, etc? So interesting.
